Sweaty Spice, the other Spice Girl

Click bait. Catchy titles designed to garner clicks. Alas, we are all susceptible to thous scourge on humanity.

There was a whole cottage industry generating content that would get people to click and thus drive ad revenue for the scumbags behind it. It was prevalent, and completely scummy.

A few years ago, the main Social Media platforms began deploying algorithms to quench the rise of clickbait. Do not believe for one fucking second that this was to prevent the propagation of shitty clickbait.

No. Of course not.

They did it to protect their advertising revenue. If you click on a link, you leave their ecosystem, and they are no longer serving up ads to you (and taking money from stupid marketers who target your demos).

They just didn’t like someone else gaming the system. So posts with titles that are clickbait-y are demoted and buried.

What’s is a fucking douche-nozzle scamboy to do? Use fucking compelling images to lure the unsuspecting to their ad farms, that’s what.

Like this fucking gem:

This manipulative shit has gotta go
This manipulative shit has gotta go

You see it, your eye processes it, and then you feel compelled to click to se the next image in the series.

Bzzzzt!

Nope, you go to some shitbag site that blows up your ad blocker like a nuclear bomb.

Faaaaack.

I hate it when I stupidly click that fucking link
