The home of Sweaty Spice, the 'other' Spice Girl

I in general do not mind changing strings on my guitar(s). It can be relaxing - almost zen like.

But there is one exception to this. A nylon string guitar. There are no "end balls", and one must tie the strings off on the end block. It is tedious, and if you goof, you can break a string which might snap back hard enough to ding the lacquer finish on the instrument.

Add to that the fact that it takes about two weeks of nearly constant adjustment of the unwound strings to stabilize, it is just not fun.

That is the setup.

On Halloween, as I prepared to do my usual practice, pull the Tak out of its case, getting ready to play for the kids of the neighborhood who come trick-or-treating, I was met with the G string having broken. Alas, I was not going to be able to play the classical guitar this year.

Yesterday, I pulled it back out, and changed the strings. Not so much fun. Now I will be stretching them in to get them properly bedded before it is fairly stable and I will be able to play for more than 5 minutes without tuning it up again.
