The Minute Clinic - Staples removed
Today is the 10th day post head bounce on the sidewalk, and the addition of three staples to my scalp. I was originally planning on going to my primary care physician, but I couldn’t book an appointment until late January.
Yeah, that wasn’t going to work. I figured that I could go back to the urgent care facility on Monday, and wait until they could see me.
Of course, for years I have removed staples from my dogs so I know how they can be removed without the need of a vet (or doctor) visit. I tried to talk my wife into removing them, but she was chicken. If the staples were anywhere besides on my scalp, I would have done it myself, but I couldn’t in this case.
My wife googled how to do it, and she discovered that CVS has “MinuteClinic” services. I booked an appointment, and today I was in and out in about 15 minutes.
At first I was curious how this would work, because I was in this CVS a few weeks ago, I couldn’t figure out where this clinic was. Turns out that they just opened it a couple weeks’ ago, and it is very nice. Three exam rooms, staffed with nurse practitioners, and all the common goodies. It took longer to check in, and do the paperwork than to remove the three staples.
I will admit that I am a fan, and this sort of innovation in common Medical care is refreshing.
Meanwhile, I am now staple free, and later this week I will be able to get my hair cut.
