I can't fucking believe I have to write about John Bolton

If you've been hiding under a rock, you might not be aware that yesterday (Friday, August 22, 2025) the FBI in conjunction with local police served a search warrant on John Bolton, famous mainly for being a fucking war-mongering piece of human garbage, and having a massive moustache. Seriously, he was one of those think-tank Neocon pukes that never met a conflict that they didn't want to turn into a precursor to WWIII.[1]

I fucking loathe him and all of his ilk. I was sickened when in Trump I, he groveled and licked Trump's totally not-clean taint to get a job in the administration, spying an opportunity to inject his frothy war wet dreams into the placid Trump administration.

Of course, he may be an evil fuck, but he ain't stupid, and when he realized that Trump was not just dumb, but criminally insane, and that his hijinks were going to put Bolton at risk both politically and legally, he pulled the ripcord.

Then he could have participated in the investigation of all the hinky shit Trump had done in the first Trump impeachment, but alas, he felt that saving that bad shit for his book was far more important than assisting in the impeachment of the Designated Jizz Towel (seriously, the Urban Dictionary has DJT as Designated Jizz Towel) and getting him out of political power forever, back when the Constitution wasn't just a spooge-mop.

Now though, I am reading and watching a lot of the Never Trump folks get their knickers in knots as this unprecedented targeting of a disgraced former advisor by a sitting administration.

The Bulwark, The Lincoln Project, The Lincoln Square, ball fondlers like Chris Cilizza and others are all just a twitter about how unprecedented this is, how ominous it is, and that the weaponization of the DOJ and the FBI is Really Fucking Bad (tm).

No shit. But your shock and amazement that this is happening is the most surprising thing. I mean for fuck's sake, Trump ran on vengeance and getting even with those he felt slighted him, or hindered him in his first term.

Like those who say that they didn't expect ICE to target the nice lady who does their manicures, what the fuck did you think when people were waving "Mass Deportations Now" signs that were handed out to the audience at the RNC last year?

And now they are surprised that Trump is directing his Stasi to go after Bolton?

I mean, in a way, it is sorta a good idea.

Pick an official that sets anyone to the left of Ghengis Kahn in a flurry of hate, and also one that will get the MAGA base riled up against him, then you only have to worry about that sliver of the populace that codes "Never Trump Former Republican" (aka, The Bulwark staff, but their audience is far more of the left of center than the principals understand).

So, this is what is fucking killing me. As much as I hate that human filth that is John Bolton, I know that I have to defend him against this egregious affront to what it means to be an American.

The irony is all the Republicans – MAGA and Normie alike – who railed on about the Biden administration's weaponization of the DoJ (that was not at all a weaponization) are now fine with weaponization of the DoJ and the FBI far beyond what was the horror of the Hoover era.

The administration is wrong, and this is just their opening gambit. I suspect that the other gadflies that poke at Trump are going to be sleeping a lot less restfully.

It gets far worse from here.

Still, I can be fucking pissed that I have to have some sympathy for, as well as rooting for Bolton to stand firm and fight this off. Because should he fail, we are not just on a slippery slope, we are in a place that we may never recover from. And I have zero faith in the SCOTUS to properly read their so beloved text, the Constitution.

Lord help us.
